24th November.
The sun rose.
The school bell screamed.
And I… did something beautifully stupid.
Our principal was absent
the commander of the army missing.
And every warrior knows what chaos tastes like.
First lecture ended.
Gujarati teacher not yet arrived.
A tiny gap in time
2 to 5 minutes,
but enough for a rebel to escape.
So I walked out.
No permission.
No fear.
Just me roaming the kingdom-sized campus
like a bored soldier deserting the battlefield.
I returned in English lecture,
pretending like nothing happened.
Recess came.
Fourth lecture arrived.
And again
I vanished.
Silent exit.
Zero guilt.
Just tired of those tiny benches designed by someone who hates children.
I sat at the water station,
chatting with juniors,
like a philosopher taking a break from civilization.
And then
caught.
PE sir
Game Over.
We were marched to the Principal’s office.
Except the Principal wasn’t even there.
The supervisors took the throne,
and told us to write apology letters.
My letter?
Legendary.
“I went out of class for a period of time and sat at the water station.”
No drama.
No apology.
Just an explanation.
Because honestly
I disturbed no one.
Created no nuisance.
Just escaped uncomfortable benches
to breathe for a moment.
And yes…
For two days I haven’t returned to school.
Because if I go,
I swear the Principal will roast me like a winter peanut.
People keep asking:
“What happened? What happened?”
So here I am, writing this.
The real tragedy?
Because of me,
the school has now banned the legendary “long washroom walk.”
The 10–15 minute royal break?
Gone.
We’re all jailed inside our own building now.
Even I will suffer this.
Poetic justice, I guess.
What did I learn?
• Never commit a school crime with friends go solo like a true ninja.
• Never sit where cameras can see you surveillance is the real villain.
• And always, always follow your own rules
because breaking your own system hurts more than breaking theirs.
But hey
I’m Devam Jain.
I don’t make mistakes.
I just create…
