Behind the Curtains.{school drama}

What’s the best part about being in a school drama? The stage? The spotlight? Nah, it’s skipping classes with a legit excuse (sorry, teachers!). For our school’s epic 116-year celebration at Ahmedabad’s grand Town Hall, I didn’t get to act. Sad? Not really. Instead, I joined the production team—the unsung heroes! Our job? Building the perfect stage for the actors to shine. It’s not glamorous, but it’s a wild ride of fun, chaos, and zero lectures. While others were solving equations, we were solving problems like, “Where do we find a fake teacup and tray?” The drama itself is a quirky mix of dreams, careers, and a lot of nonsense. Meet Manav (Nishad), the hardworking “Deshbhakt,” and his crush, Khushboo (Nidhi). Shubham (Jainam) brings laughs with his cricket dreams, while Tanmay (Dev) and Nikita (Kanak) form the “Airplane Duo,” aiming to move abroad. Arpita is the aspiring actress, and Vikas (Prashil) is the sharp lawyer, ready to take on Anil (Subham), a doctor accused of overbilling. And then there’s Nikhil (Shezan), the spoiled son of a politician and businessman, who’s used to getting everything his way. Together, this whirlwind of characters creates a story full of ambition, humor, and unexpected dance.

it’s way too fun to watch everyone in class while I’m out here, living my best behind-the-scenes life. Would I do it again? Let’s just say I’m already planning how many classes I can skip next time.
